Happy New Year to you all! I hope you started this new year and decade in good spirits with family and friends.
Now that we’re a couple of days into the new year, we, at Kobo360, are focused on not just executing the plans we’ve set for ourselves, but exceeding them, just as we did the previous decade. Building a pan-African company that each and every one of us, as well as peers, can be proud of — that’s what we continue to do all day, every day. Building opportunities for hundreds of thousands of drivers across the continent, who thanks to us, will be in the best position ever to provide for their families. Building opportunities for businesses to move their goods across the continent, and in turn opening up vastly improved trade opportunities for them — it’s exciting to watch them scale, knowing that geography is no longer a barrier to growth for them.
It’s a new year, but the the Kobo360 mission remains the same. We are building the Global Logistics Operating System that will drive efficiency and affordability in the Supply Chain. This is who we are; it’s embedded in the company’s DNA. To achieve this, we are conducting a past year review and addressing the critical steps for improving logistics on the continent.
Kobo360 has raised the stakes in reconfiguring how goods are moved across the continent; we are truly pioneers and all eyes are on us now — from our partners, to drivers, and even competitors. We live in a fast-paced technological era, so we must not lose sight of our priority: to be a strong and sustainable company that addresses customers’ pain points and improve the working lives and careers of millions of drivers across the continent.
With the start of trading under the AfCFTA Agreement coming into fruition in 2020, we are going to use our time wisely and move forward as decisively and swiftly as we can. That will only remain possible if we remain diligent, take pride and confidence in our work and most importantly work as a team — primarily in our individual markets, but equally across the whole company.
On behalf of my Co-Founder Ife Oyedele and myself, I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us on the journey — from our families, employees, our investors, partners, customers, and well-wishers.
At Kobo360, we have a lot of work ahead, but I’m confident we can realise our mission.
Happy New Year!
